Local 6 Elevator Contractors represents the most qualified and trained elevator constructors in the Pittsburgh and surrounding area. Members assemble, install and replace elevators, escalators, dumbwaiters, moving walkways and similar equipment in new and old buildings. Elevator constructors also maintain and repair this equipment and modernize older equipment.

IN THE OFFICE
In local 6, we have over 45 years of elevator experience between the two guys in the office. Paul Ryan worked in the local for over 20 years and was voted in and started as Business Manager in 2022. Calvin Shoemaker, Also with over 20 years working as a mechanic, was voted in and started as Business Rep in 2020. Backed by the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Both guys work every day to ensure the success and growth the the Local.
